thanks in advance for understanding,

I have a feeling this may seem a little arrogant/self induced?

I have a Gigabyte AMD B550 AORUS Elite AX V2 rev.1.2 and I use the Gigabyte App Center.
I know, I've read the overwhelming opinion of it and I totally understand where people are coming from, it's bloat and poor and you don't want me to have it and just use a usb and that makes complete sense but i have ocd and i kind of just need it to do the job its supposed to do.

I'd like to keep it and not only that but use it to update my bios using @ bios and I can always update using a usb if i have to but id like for this to work if i can get it to. I choose the USA server region to look for an update and it only shows me version FF, which is the version of bios that I have currently installed. Checking on the gigabyte website I see version FGd is the most recent. Is there a reason for this, not updated through the app/server side, region maybe? And the real question, can/should I update using @ bios with the .FGd file i downloaded manually from gigabyte without issues by selecting update from file option?

i mean it's there so if its as simple as selecting that file and saying ok then that's what id like to do, now take that *should* with the context that my bios appears fine, updated using the app center to FF recently(this week) and I'm more than likely just going to leave it on this version if i have to do anything other than use the app centers @ bios. I'm sure that's a thing to hear for some but this is my pc is playing BG3 fine right now so honestly if its not automated through the app I'm just not going to do it if i don't have to. that being said I'd like to have the most current version if there's no risk in doing it that way with the file i have, waiting for the app to catch up is also a thing I'm ok with.

I just want things to work as intended and not have to get a second usb stick to flash the BIOS, uninstall app center bla bla bla.

It's not an opinion, it's from experience that the app is not meant for duties except for BIOS updates. Quiet frankly, you're taking the longest route in order to solve a problem. In case you didn't read them on our forums(or others), the app center has been known to brick motherboards since the app isn't as smart as a person.

You're advised to flash the BIOS, the old school way, following steps mentioned here;

You don't use an app or even 3rd party app's to update/flash the BIOS for your motherboard, plain and simple. Well you could, if you're looking for an excuse to get another motherboard or go down another rabbit hole with a H341A BIOS programming tool kit to recover your BIOS.

You should update BIOS only if it resolves some issue you're having.

Do you have any issues with your system that this BIOS update is supposed to solve?
If no, then you should not update BIOS.

If BIOS update is done wrong or power gets cut during update, your motherboard gets bricked.

Thanks for answering the actual question, I appreciate it. No, there's no issues so ill just leave it alone. its working fine i don't really feel the need to do the run around of going to the store and getting a usb and updating it.

None of these words are an actual answer to my real question and yes you are in fact just sharing your opinion which i never needed i already knew what it was. and if i might add that by your own words if the app is "not meant for duties except for BIOS updates" then logically, again by your own words, using it do so is fine.
