Moving my home office and structured wiring.

I am moving my home office from the background to the middle room mostly to get it away from the air conditioner to allow me to better do home audio recording. Are there any patches I need to look out for in this project?

    Rocksmith 2014, Windows 10, and 0xc000007b error.

Wow, nobody? That's scary. Just FWIW, I have attempted to install it on my Windows 7 desktop as well. Same result.

    Rocksmith 2014, Windows 10, and 0xc000007b error.

I have been double checking, verifying everything I know to check, trying to run it in compatibility mode etc... but every time I try to launch the game locally (not within Steam) I get the 0xc000007b error. Within steam it just exits and does nothing. Has anyone found a legit fix for this...

    Cable Modem Hookup

That is certainly different from Comcast. When I had them for TV too, the internet, and the TV came in via the same coaxial cable... My ex in laws have Cox and theirs was the same way... I thought they all worked like that. Learn something new every day! Thanks.

    Need Help Reducing Costs

For starters, you could base the thing on an AMD FX processor / mainboard combo instead of Intel.

    Cable Modem Hookup

The modem has to be registered / activated to the cable network, but yes, the physical connection is a standard F type coax connector to the back of the modem. There should also be an RJ-45 ethernet cable on the modem that should attach to your router. That is assuming your modem is just a...

    My Friend Was Hacked

I hate using "Let Me Google That For you" as folks often use it in a snide manner, but honestly I felt the results here would be helpful. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Home+network+security+best+practices There are a mess of links there but the pdf on home network security best practices from the NSA is...

    Home hardware firewall recommendation

No big deal. Not sure where you read that, but consider this... When the NSA decided to build their Role Based Authentication Control (RBAC), they first attempted to build it on their own custom written operating system, and abandoned that attempt to focus on enhancing security of the Open...

    Home hardware firewall recommendation

I am soooo glad I didn't have any liquids in my mouth when I read your reply! Closed source products are MUCH slower to respond to security threats. To give you an example, take a look at how many active virii there are out there for Windows versus Linux. Yes there is malware out there for...

installed ftth cannot connect to internet

What do you mean have your fifth connection installed? Most ISPs typically provide just a modem connection, or at most, a modem / router with 4 LAN ports. Did you have ethernet cable run throughout the apartment? Is it the landlord that runs the cable or? Sorry I just don't understand exactly...

    My Friend Was Hacked

Chances are better than good you will not like my answer here as it involves quite a bit of work, but the recommendations I am about to make are to insure that your friend and his network are restored to a good, non compromised status. This is no small part of the reason that everyone should...
