Need Help Reducing Costs

Hey there. I have recently created a build, using PartPicker. However, it is a little over my budget, which is £900, and was wondering if you guys could help by recommending parts that should be changed, which will have no or very little effect on the performance.

(I understand that you would probably suggest the case, but I really like the look of it, so only change it if there is no other choice.)

P.S. I will be buying these parts in December, so no doubt that the price will drop. I don't know how much the price will drop by, if you could give me a rough estimate, that would be great!

For starters, you could base the thing on an AMD FX processor / mainboard combo instead of Intel.

I wouldn't change anything and work under the assumption there will be sales in December that would get you under $900. Failing that I'd just suck up the tiny extra amount you are over (it's not even the cost of a single game). If that's not possible on principle, then I'd look at a 670 instead or if electricity isn't terribly expensive there you could go to a Bronze PSU and make up the difference.

You could always get a cheaper case. Are you going to SLI in the future? If not you can get a different motherboard. That psu isn't really sufficient for SLI anyway. Are you sure you're going to overclock? If not you could get an i5-3570 and just use the stock HSF.

I might suggest three changes:
1. M-ATX motherboards are usually cheaper.

2. The function of a case is to hold your parts. Here is a minimum M-ATX sized case.

And... can you blow your savings on a SSD for the os and a few games?

If you can get a 240gb ssd, it will hold the os and a fair number of games. By deferring on the hard drive, you might fit it into your budget. It is easy to add a hard drive later.
