    Question Effect Of Subtimings

what your formula is showing is true latency only, as described with the slightly different formula (but gives same results) here: https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/ddr4-frequency-vs-latency.232240/ which means... the latency is almost the same on the 3200 kit and the 3600 kit before...

    Question Effect Of Subtimings

And Crucial also says speed trumps latency, so there's another company you're calling clueless by saying "everything" is down to latency" https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/memory-performance-speed-latency From that article: "Based on in-depth engineering analysis and extensive testing in the...

    Question Effect Of Subtimings

Think what you want, but G.skill told me that the higher bandwidth of the 3600 makes a big deal for good cpus. Beyond that they didn't elaborate, but I'm going to assume it means once you're doing something intensive the 3600 would become faster regardless of latency because the 3200 bandwidth...

    Question Effect Of Subtimings

There's more to it than that equation, though, because higher frequency still performs better than lower frequency. It's not all down to latency. Ryzen has always been known to be better with higher frequencies, regardless of latency. If 3200 cl14 was better overall than 3600 cl16, then the...

Question samsung t5 vs. crucial x8

I don't know if I'll ever build one again after this one. This is my first time and I just kept selling unopened parts for 2 years now because new parts come out before I am ready to build. And now I passed up getting to use a $120 off at dell deal for some Samsung ssds and now everyone went...

Question samsung t5 vs. crucial x8

I've really overdone it, too. I plan this build out in my head and in the real world you don't need all the extra time shaved off of things, such as video editing finishing 5 minutes sooner and whatnot. At least that is my thinking... that I probably went overboard tying to get all the best parts.

Question samsung t5 vs. crucial x8

I've been extra polite until people started being rude to me and attacking me and mocking me. Also that is an exaggeration as there are plenty people here I am still polite to. Only the ones who directly insult me do I stand up for myself against.

Question samsung t5 vs. crucial x8

they're speedy by external standards. only one that's faster is the x5 (insanely expensive) or maybe if you put a ssd in an enclosure, but then all kinds of other factors could keep it from being as expected.

Question samsung t5 vs. crucial x8

lol. so not a single person on here has an opinion on two of the most commonly bought external ssds,m huh? A lot easier to ask here than find a new site to ask pc questions at, but I get net to no answers the majority of the time.

Question samsung t5 vs. crucial x8

Which should I get? I will have the type c ports, so the crucial is twice as fast. However, it's also bigger and many say it gets very hot. Is Crucial/Micron close to as dependable as Samsung?

    Buying SSDs From Strangers

Thanks. What someone at g.skill told me though is that the 3600 speed alone is a difference, due to greater bandwidth. I guess the main thing I am trying to decide is if 3600 16-19-19 would be faster than 3200 15-15-15. Notice the speed and the first timing both say the 3600 would still be...

    Buying SSDs From Strangers

Can someone tell me the performance difference between the following RAM, since nobody will ever answer me in the freakin RAM forum? 3200 15-15-15, 3600 16-16-16, 3600 16-19-19 How much will those 19s hurt that kit's speed? Obviously the middle kit is the fastest, but how much difference...

    Buying SSDs From Strangers

I guess your answer is no, you don't because yes there is fraud everywhere and I love how you act like those companies are just all rich ceos. lol. Like because a company is a known one it means their employees are all well paid ones who wouldn't be involved in anything bad. Of course fraud...

    Buying SSDs From Strangers

Cool. now I was talking on the phone and forgot all about getting the $100 off deal so missed it. I was going to just get it through Newegg on there for $120. Now I have to wait until I can get a different deal because I am not going to pay over $150 plus tax. At this rate who knows when I will...

    Buying SSDs From Strangers

what about from a random ebay user with 0 feedback? jk I wouldn't be THAT crazy. I even had one 100% feedback person try to rip me off on there, but he was dumb so I at least prevented that, but then had to use the product myself in the process...
