The sound in the back works, just no surround

Motherboard is msi 970a-g43. When I plug my headphones in the front panel there's surround sound, but when I plug in the back, there's none. I have Realtek audio I guess. The only reason I don't like plugging in the front is because if I move a bit the audio disconnects for some reason
