Hello,I have a xeon x5450 processor,i overclocked it to 4ghz by upping the fsb to 444. It is stable on aida64 benchmark but the program crashes when i add the ram to the benchmark. I am sure the RAM is the problem but i dont know what to do in order to make the RAM more stable.

Check if your fan speed changes or if it got locked to a small percentage,this could cause the cpu to overheat as the fan isnt working hard enough. If that's not the cause i would consider taking out the cooling unit and reapplying thermal grease.If you have the default cooler its preferable to...

I have to upgrade my processor in order to play star wars battlefront. Do you think upgrading to x5470 will be worth it?I can buy one used for around 80 dollars. Will there be any bottleneck and if there is will it destroy the performance of the game?

I have overclocked the panel to 75hz,I have created 2 different custom resolutions,the one is 2560x1080x75 and the other is 1920x1080x75. The default refresh rate is 60hz. The problem is that when i click on the custom resolution on nvidia control panel and apply the setting,it keeps reverting...

I would go with the i7 since money is not a problem,the i7 is generally better at everything.

But i dont understand. Its the same price,it has lower TDP and same clock speeds (almost). In addition,it has a lot more l3 cache.

Its not killed since the pc POSTS to windows. It is just stuck,try contacting the experts at asus they got good customer support and return policies.

It will be powerful enough just for physx. But there is no need to use a dedicated physx card with your setup. Its simply useless.
