Thanks for the contribution Lutfij. I think the problem is sorted. It WAS a driver issue after all it seems. (I have restarted it 30 times so far with no issues) NONE OF THE REALTEK DRIVERS WAS IN FACT CORRRECT I needed a driver that also provided drivers for Intel Smart Sound Tecnology...

I used it to update my drivers .... it erased my sound card driver in the prrocess and eventough I reinstaled it outside the program I am still having problems (sometimes the sound card it not recognized at start up and so there is no sound) I never had any problem with it cleaning the registry...

To be honest, I didn't have to ask experts just to be told to replace the drive, it was what I would have had to do if i hadn't been able to solve the problem. I feel I was being pressurized here into accepting that the drive was faulty and into replacing it, which is in the end not a solution...
