Question Static discharge buildup on my PC, next steps?

I wonder what has changed in that instance then, I can't think of anything that's causing me to get charged up. I got my chair replaced (herman miller x logitech embody) around the same time but that wouldnt charge me up would it? Other than that I have an M-Audio track solo that I bought in...

Question Static discharge buildup on my PC, next steps?

An update on this. Electrician came around and confirmed that everything is grounded, and did an insulation test too which came back fine. He tested the currents on the PSU and everything was fine too. Had all my pc stuff disconnected this time and didn't get discharge when touching something...

Question Static discharge buildup on my PC, next steps?

Yeah very possibly, I have laminated wood and had a desk carpet but got rid of that to test just to be sure as well. So I'm with you in that the PC might be charging me up. Though when I touch the side of the case I get discharged, but when I touch the front of the case I do not. Not sure if...

Question Static discharge buildup on my PC, next steps?

Bought a hygrometer and can confirm that humidity is consistently between 55-57% so I don't believe this to be the issue

Question Static discharge buildup on my PC, next steps?

Well, I'm not sure entirely, it could very well not be my PC as all this happened some time after my wall sockets got swapped out by an electrician. When I leave everything unplugged overnight I don't get a static shock in the morning when I touch the sink, when I leave everything unplugged...

Question Static discharge buildup on my PC, next steps?

Yeah this issue has started recently. Last winter (around December is when I moved here) there hadn't been an issue with this - though if humidity is the problem here then it's possibly the air wasn't as dry last winter? Will look at getting a hygrometer to see if lack of humidity is the case

Question Static discharge buildup on my PC, next steps?

I assume it's my PC anyway, it seems to be charging up as every time I touch things in the living room (like the sink, fridge, microwave) I get a static discharge shock. At first I thought it was my monitor wire, and that definitely was a bit faulty as it was creating a build up quickly. Now...

[SOLVED] Can't connect PC to TV via HDMI

I see so it doesnt really matter what I set the resolution as. Not quite what you were saying, but while looking for what you mentioned, I found and changed the hdmi signal format from "standard format" to "enhanced format with VRR support" and now it works flawlessly, so strange but finally it...

[SOLVED] Can't connect PC to TV via HDMI

I'm not too bothered if there are losses, I would just be happy with it displaying anything at all, even if just 4k@60hz. And as I say, my laptop connects to the 10m hdmi just fine, and so does my phone, it's just my desktop PC that has issues for some strange reason. However, you are correct...

[SOLVED] Can't connect PC to TV via HDMI

The laptop is 1080p@60hz, for my pc I use a monitor that has 2k@165hz. The TV has support for 4k@120hz, but I've changed my display settings to do 1080p@60hz for the TV, but the issue is still the same unfortunately. What did you end up doing for your LG to work? Any particular setting you...

[SOLVED] Can't connect PC to TV via HDMI

Hello, not really sure which category to put this, but here goes: I've recently bought a 10m HDMI cable for connecting my PC to my TV. However, the TV just returns with a grey static screen, similar to those moving ants from tv channels, except they aren't moving. I've narrowed it down to...

GeForce GT 640 GDDR5 dual monitor not working

I have a GT 640 1GB GDDR5 and the DVI-D slot is not being recognised by my computer at all, nor the geforce control panel. I'm using windows 10. The VGA port works perfectly fine, and I'm using a VGA to DVI-D adapter for my second monitor, but it's just not being recognised. Edit: I just...
