I would keep the CPU and upgrade the GPU. I'm not so sure if a 1080 would be necessary but a 1070 would be pretty solid. Also, kinda out of line but the PSU you have right now is a little overkill lol.

Do you have a wireless network adapter installed as well? And do you get any error messages before the computer shuts down?

I would say yes, you should wait for the new Ryzen CPU's to come out and get that along with a Ryzen motherboard, but seeing as you have probably never built a computer before you do not need to buy an aftermarket CPU cooler. If this is going to be a strictly gaming rig, maybe even spend money...
