If you use a PCI sound card, just make sure you disable the built-in one, in the bios or jumber on MB. I have had 3 giga-byte boards and currently have an ASUS one, and have not had any problems.

You should be able to re-install the "upgrade" version onto a blank hard drive. All you would need is the install disk for WinME, to verify that you had a previous version.

I just got an Ausus, A7V333, and I like it alot, haven't had any problems at all. When instaling the CPU on your new motherboard, make sure to get clean off the old thermal tape off of the heatsink and replacing with thermal paste.

I had the same problem with a Giga-byte and an Athlon 1900+ xp cpu. I thought the CPU overheated. So I, replaced the CPU and Motherboard. You may have a virus in the bios. You may want to try flashing an updated version.

I never use to the integrated audio. Disable it and use a PCI sound card. Sound blaster is the best.
