how to get 99% isopropyl alcohol

So a lot of people who are new to the whole computer thing don't know where to go to pick up the right kind of alcohol for cleaning their processor, and other components that may require cleaning from really pure isopropyl alcohol. Well I bet you are...

How to fix a broken side button on the razer deathadder, and mouses like it

So the reason why I decided to do this was because I recently had an issue with my mouse that happened one day while playing a FPS game. I had my reload macrod to the B5 button on the mouse which is the button on the side of the mouse that is the...

    mother board upgrade

HP motherboards from that era have issues with their bios and that video card or newer video cards in general. Some of them work without problems others just don't. HP will never provide an update to fix this. So yeah once you get a new motherboard you should be just fine.

    mother board upgrade

It would fit but I would recommend getting some of these plastic spacers http://www.ebay.com/itm/Motherboard-spacer-standoff-plastic-screw-type-Lot-of-25-Plastic-stand-offs-/291528273034?hash=item43e0706c8a:g:aOMAAOSwMmBVu~Bq those boards that aren't quite as wide as the normal micro atx boards...

    mother board upgrade

Most Hp's like yours will take a micro ATX board just fine. Just make sure that the front panel umbilical cables aren't proprietary. You will also need to get a torx screwdriver to take the screws out properly when you do the swap. You could use a flat head like some people use but you risk...

Windows 10 USB Flash Drive - Not Booting from Flash Drive?

The problem is with the usb windows 10 installation itself. You will need to open up the tool again and select create boot or installation media for another PC. I've tried several work around's for this and non have ever worked. I do at least 5-7 windows 10 installs/ re-installs and all the...

    What psu do I need?

Your system won't be using that much power so you probably could get away with using a tier 3 unit.

    Challenge - 12 Simultaneous VM's on a single PC/Laptop

Yeah I normally run mine just fine with one but you can try like 1.25 or 1.5. But a 5400rpm hard drive is probably your issue right now. 7200rpm drives at least the newer ones are good enough for vm's, but if you use an SSD it would be much faster. VM's also benefit a lot from faster memory as...

    Challenge - 12 Simultaneous VM's on a single PC/Laptop

You really don't need that much memory per vm for windows 7,8, or 10. All of my windows VM's run at 1 gig if there isn't some big program that I would be running on them requiring more. So for 12 VM's you can get away with 16 gigs, but getting a 24-32gig laptop would be better. Most of the...

Pricing a new system. Help me tweek it. My first build

Unless you do something that benefits from moving large amounts of data quickly even for pretty much all games, you won't see a difference in performance. In my HTPC my boot times actually increased when I used one of the newer m.2 drives. So an 850 evo SSD will work just fine.

Should I go with an i5 or AMD? Budget of >$500CAD for the rest of the parts I need.

I didn't forget, Op said the processor I mentioned was a good find. So I'm guessing it's something within their price range.

Should I go with an i5 or AMD? Budget of >$500CAD for the rest of the parts I need.

I'd just check on NCIX for a cheap lga 1151 motherboard then. You would be set for quite a while with a setup like that.

Should I go with an i5 or AMD? Budget of >$500CAD for the rest of the parts I need.

You would be better off just paying the extra money for an i5. If you bought an AMD processor you would need to pay a decent amount to get a motherboard that would properly support AMD thermals. You could buy the cheapest lga 1151 board you could find and an i5 and it would destroy pretty much...

    Gaming pc build

Zed board wouldn't be needed for non K processors since the microcode update won't allow you to overclock non K processors anymore. You could probably put the money from the zed board into something like a Xeon and 16 gigs of ram since both of the upgrades wouldn't cost to much more. Actually I...
