Question M.2 SSD Boot Problem After Rebuilding PC ?

Sigh... I misunderstood a BIOS setting. CMS was disabled. Entirely. Enabled it and UEFI etc came alive and everything was fine. Apologies for wasting your time.

Question M.2 SSD Boot Problem After Rebuilding PC ?

The M.2 SSD only shows as storage. It doesn't show in Boot order. I just noticed the drivers seem to have rolled back to 2021 and a much earlier build so I'll try updating them. Thank you for the response. I'll post any progress and if not I'll act on your post.

Question M.2 SSD Boot Problem After Rebuilding PC ?

Traveled overseas and my PC wouldn't fit in my case. No biggie, just packed the components and got a new case Have just put everything into a new and different case (had a Corsair 4000D airflow and now using the far inferior be quiet 500DX). Had two drives. A 1tb M.2 SSD and a 4tb hdd. Windows...

    Fans, Hubs and PWM

I get that, but I don't understand why the hub's not designed just to work as a fan splitter. Just because I don't want to make use of PWM with it, it becomes unpowered via sata and wants to run every fan that's plugged into it through one header? That can't be a good idea. Or is it absolutely...

    Fans, Hubs and PWM

Hi - I'm trying to add as many fans to my pc as the case will take because, well, why not? My mobo is a GA-H97-D3H that has a CPU_FAN, CPU_OPT and 3 x SYS_FAN headers on the board. I want to add 6 fans (two front, two top, one back and one base) and bought them because how hard could it be...

    Fans and CPU_OPT

Gotcha. So the PWM splitter takes it speed cue off the mobob 4pin and it's power from the psu. Thanks for the response. Much appreciated!

    Fans and CPU_OPT

Hi - This may be a wholly idiotic question. Won't be my first, unlikely to be my last... No overclocking has or will take place. Stock cpu fan and a Silverstone 600w Strider Plus psu. I have a GA-H97-D3H mobo. For reasons that are entirely aesthetic, I want to add more fans than there are...

Upgrading - A little help please!

Can someone tell me if this is ok? Been prevaricating for days and tried to get all parts from one supplier (PCCG). There's so many options every time I think about actually parting with my hard-earned I wonder what I'm missing. I have no idea why I changed things (like cpu) but as long as I'm...

Upgrading - A little help please!

Thank you for fixing that for me. When I said I hate the rebuild, I actually meant just choosing the parts, which just drives me to distraction. Actually assembling everything is kind of Zen for me - I usually break my pc down for cleaning every couple of months.

Upgrading - A little help please!

My budget's AUD, but seeing as I'm picking people's brains for free it seemed a bit much to say 'oh and Aussie prices only'. With exchange rate and price difference though, it does add up! Just the graphic card is $100AUD difference. I was aiming for $750 in my budget so I guess I've wasted...

Upgrading - A little help please!

Thanks very much for the answers so far! Not planning on overclocking. Is my RAM ok to keep? Also, my psu will need replacing as it's as cheap and nasty as you can get. Any suggestions? Also, not worth upgrading to Win 8.1? Was told there was a significant performance increase overall for...

    Yet Another $1000 PC Build...

Hi All First, thank you for the endless patience you show in answering all the 'build me a pc for $XXX' threads. It has helped me a great deal in trying to put together my own and I've come up with something that seems, to me at least, a half-decent rig. Trouble is I'm about $150 over budget...
