I have recently built a new PC and I had an idea to use virtual machines for gaming. I know it can be done as I have seen videos on how to create them. But I was wondering what are the pros and cons of carrying this out?

I was wondering which Graphics Card I should get. I currently have a GTX 1060 6GB and want to upgrade to a better Graphics Card. I was thinking of getting either the GTX 1080 Ti or a RTX 2070, which one of these should I get or should I get a different one completely?
