I don't know very much about CPU's but I'm looking for a new CPU because my i5 7600 bottlenecks my GTX 1070Ti. I found a i7 6700 for a good price. The i7 6700 is a older CPU, that dosent support 2400mhz ram. Will it be an upgrade to my i5 7600 I currently use?

So I used the crucial Parts scanner it it told me i need DDR3-1600 UDIMM ram. I found some but it says they are DIMM not UDIMM. Will they fit into my motherboard. Are they the same?
