I have tried this through both a physical hardware connector and using the motherboard settings to control them with DC. I still catch them stalling however I think it is rarer.

So then my test before of running the fans through an adapter with the PWM lines cut should make the fan never spin, but the fan spins at 100% as if it were controlled using DC. Yet I still catch them doing the same thing. So is the PWM required or not? Maybe it is smart and knows how to switch...

Scratch that its at 70c right now. Not playing anything and runing 14% load.

Now It is climbing to 54c with only 10% load. (I just put the side panel on)

Ok I have reinstalled the cooler with a Pea sized dot in the middle. Tightened it down respectfully and ran handbrake as a benchwark. The cpu was climbinto 70c slower than last time but it still got there. Also took a long time to get it down to just 49c on idle.
