I was hoping to upgrade a Cpu from a core 2 duo e6600 to e8400 at 3ghz but the computer will not post with the e8400

I recently was given an old dell computer with an intel core 2 duo, and I was going to overclock it, but I have no idea if the motherboard will support this. Anyone know if i can check this?

I am looking o buy a CiT Ignition Midi case and a GIGABYTE INTEL LGA1151 H170 HD3 motherboard, but i have no idea if i will be able to connect all the usb ports and fans. Does anyone know if it will all work?
