Will the clean w11 install need a new key? And more importantly, will I miss specific drivers that I can't get from anywhere else but from Asus?

understood... would I need to purchase a new W11 key, or could I somehow use the OEM key that's used with the pre-installed version?

My kid is going to highschool and will need a Windows laptop. All things considdered I will probably buy a laptop twice in her schoolcareer. For now I'm looking at 2 14"models that fall in my budget, or at least in a budget I find to be reasonable for a school laptop. I doubt she'll need more...

Is he planning on physical cockpit parts (switches, instrument panels etc)? If yes, forget about VR. Use a beamer on a curved projection screen. Or a 4K. Or triple screen. Get a trackir or cheap diy knockoff to bridge the immersion gap a bit. Is 1200 his max budget? If yes, forget about VR...

Falcon being CPU-taxing and not so much GPU (it's dx9 even) , I'd very much like to keep the 3570K I have planned now. Too bad there isn't many 2nd hand GPU's available locally :)

Back on the GPU: ATI seems most recommended for the game I play the most (falcon), so that choice is made. The 7870 being over-budget, the 7850 will be the one. The only way I can free up money for the 7870 is to go the AMD route, but that's something entirely different.

thanks for the replies so far, I'm closing in now :). The 660 2Gb is available here, it's 10% more expensive than an an 7850 2Gb (190 vs 210). The reason I prefer ATI, is because ATI supports a multi monitor setup better. I'll have to get into this with people playing the games I like, namely...
