So my PC is finally all put together so i take my Acer P216HL Monitor from my other cpu to look at my Bios screen, but my monitor does not read the computer and stays black(like in sleep mode). I have my monitor connected through the VGA connector directly to the motherboard. I can't try...

im getting really discouraged about my first computer. cant even get it to turn on..

It powers up my front panel fans and itself, but i see no light on the power supply itself.

What could cause the PSU to not work when connected to the motherboard? It works when i do the paperclip trick but when i go to connect my 4/8 12v connector and my 24pin connector it doesnt turn on. please help. All my parts are new and compatible so they all should be working..
