    All distros have pros and cons. I actually suggest Mint or MX Linux to new Linux users because they seem very simple and almost complete to me.

    Gparted is a powerful tool. Try do delete all partions in it and to create a new one by using Gparted. Then format and umount it.

    Well, the device, a dvb-t one, works but the video is corrupted. No issues with file videos.

    Thank you for your answer. At the moment (and before your answer) I've installed Virtualbox and the guest can also load the firmware of my usb device. I cannot use it yet. Maybe something is still missed in my installation.

    I have an usb device that has no drivers for Windows 10. I know it can be used with Linux. Can Virtualbox or Qemu let a guest Linux OS see and use that device?

    Thank you very much. I've just downloaded the chipset driver for Windows 7 , unzipped it and read the mup.xml file. Well, Windows 8.1 seems supported by this chipset driver. Maybe the usb-c support is included in this driver. Another question is if all the features of my CPU will also be supported.
