Also should i get the DDR3-1866 or DDR3-1600?

I am building my new gaming PC. The main purpose of the computer is of course gaming. I will be having the corsair dominator platinum series RAM. However, I do not know if I need 8GB or 16GB. Is 8GB enough? Or 16GB is needed?

I am getting a SSD to use as a boot drive and back up storage and the HDD will be my main storage drive

Actually for my RAM, do I need 16 GB? Or can I cut it to just 8GB?
