Not a stupid question i’ve done it before so i made sure this time, I have a DVI connector plugged into my GPU and Monitor, i also tried plugging it straight into the mobo after it didn’t display from the gpu.

I'm sorry if anyone is trying to help. I just found the cause of the problem, my monitor has a setting called "clear-vision" and it was turned on which made the display pixelated. I guess you've always got to check your monitor settings. Not gonna delete this, i'm gonna put my stupidity on show...
