I picked up the black version on Amazon. It should be here Friday with Prime shipping. I will update when I have time to play around with it! Thanks!

USB 3.0 3.5" Drive Enclosure Recommendations

Hi all. First post here at Toms in a really long time. Been super busy with classes and work! The title pretty much says it all. My computer went out on me again so I am looking to externally enclose two 3TB WD Green Drives for a Plex server on my laptop. Each drive is holding TB's worth of HD...

Amazon Takes Shots at iPad Air in New Kindle Commercial

I agree with TeKEffect. It's why I own both an iPad 4 and a Nexus 5. I find the app content on the iPad to be much richer and higher quality than the Android tablet app market. The phone's ecosystems are basically the same: it just comes down to preference on options, features, and operating...

    BIOS Occasionally Hangs at Splashscreen

Looked at Windows Event Viewer and apparently since I started having issues this past month I have been getting NTFS and drive errors (on a brand new Samsung 840 Pro that runs benchmarks like a champ and passes SMART without a single error). I have also been getting a lot of SATA controller...

    BIOS Occasionally Hangs at Splashscreen

It crashed again but I am not sure it's the RAM. I may have to ditch this question for longer than I want. I have made some changes and I hope that fixed it but I really don't think I did. If it crashes again I will take it to a local guy who is pretty sure it is some form of RAM problem.

    Samsung Magician Lying?

Hey I figured out why the software was confused (I am having a crapload of problems with the machine so I am going through and trying everything to fix it). I had the chipset driver installed which also installed the AMD SATA controller driver. Replacing that with the standard Windows ACHI 1.0...

    BIOS Occasionally Hangs at Splashscreen

I posted this when I thought my new RAM was stable, so I am doing some messing around with the system. I have taken the unlock off the system to ensure easy RAM diagnosis and updated the BIOS so we will see. I will try unlocking again after a week of being stable with the RAM and see if it...

    MEMORY_MANAGEMENT and BAD_POOL_CALLER BSOD's

Not willing to say I solved it yet but bumping the CPU and RAM voltages seem to made things stable so far.

    what am i doing wrong

You need to post your computer stats and a bit more information. Does the system post? Do you get into Windows? Have you changed anything recently (hardware/drivers/software/etc)? Are you OC'ed? Have you tried moving to a different output on your card? Have you re-seated your graphics card?

    MEMORY_MANAGEMENT and BAD_POOL_CALLER BSOD's

I also removed the OC on my GPU to see if that was causing the problem. I scanned with Malwarebytes and it came up with 7 hits. Thinking I could remove those, restart and start the scan again I removed them. When I rebooted Windows, like before, would just get to "Windows Loading" and hang...

    MEMORY_MANAGEMENT and BAD_POOL_CALLER BSOD's

I had so many problems with this build in the past few weeks that I am considering never building myself again. My last few weeks of college summer vacation and I am spending them fixing my computer :( - if I can't get it fixed in the next day or two I will be taking it to a local guy to look...

    BIOS Occasionally Hangs at Splashscreen

I have had several issues with the system these past few months forcing me to replace my Kingston SSD with a Samsung 840 Pro, my CX500 with a Rosewill Capstone 750W, and my G. Skill Ripjaw DDR3 RAM with some Corsair Vengeance sticks. Anyways something that has plagued the system since I first...

Part 2: Four Cheap 80 PLUS Bronze Power Supplies, Reviewed

My 3 year old CX500 was a nightmare. Terrible voltage regulation and lots of issues with hardware that were solved by replacing with a Rosewill Capstone 750W. It finally died a week or two ago, giving me the excuse to upgrade to a better unit.
