I've had the PC in it's current config for years now, with no issues like this. The CPU is overclocked, though this was a preset found in the BIOS for my mobo, so I did no actual voltage/clockspeed tweaking manually.

I want to install Windows 8.1 from a CD i received when i bought another computer. The CD-Key had been used to activate the copy of Windows 8.1 on the other computer, which has since been upgraded to Windows 10 for free. If i re-use the CD-Key, will the copy of Windows 10 be invalidated?

So, it turns out one of the terminals for the power button had completely snapped. I hadn't touched so it must have been Corsair! Thanks for the reply!
