Depends on the apps entirely. Some render via the GPU, some render via the CPU. Most of the apps that use GPU rendering fully support multigpu, unlike games.

For FPS, definitely 144hz. Even if you can't run every game on ultra at 1440p@144fps, you will be able to run stuff like BF with slightly lowered settings at 144fps and it will make a difference. And if you don't really care about great graphics, there is always the option to just buy a cheap...

GW2 is a bit of a mindless farm, so not great in my opinion. WoW has always been a perfect casual game which allows you to log in for 3 hours a week and still have fun. RPGs nowadays are pretty hardcore as well.

WoW just got a new expansion 3 weeks ago so that is always a good place to start. Most of the other MMOs are pretty lackluster if you have played WoW beforehand.

BIOS shouldn't matter much when it comes to the GPU. Just upgrade to the latest BIOS version of your motherboard and you will be fine more or less. If you buy a new motherboard you will need new ram and CPU so not really worth it.

You need more money for a meaningful upgrade, since first you need to start with cpu mobo and ram. Upgrading the gpu is a bit pointless with that cpu.

Both your old one and the new one your are looking at are m.2 2230 pcie, so presumably you should have no issues.

CPU frequency drops due to low load when you alt rab most of the time the most likely problem is your gpu.

Then it's more or less a blind guess. Isn't there a place which offers upgrades? Buying the fhd and if not good enough returning and upgrading to the 4k?
