Info Logitech LIGHTSYNC RGB now compatible with Win 11 Dynamic Lighting

Nice! Now only if other stubborn manufacturers would come on board. Given how lazy most of them are to update their bloatware, surely they can see that palming it off to Windows would save them money by not needed their crapware. Alas, we need more devices to have native Windows support to get...

News Microsoft's draconian Windows 11 restrictions will send an estimated 240 million PCs to the landfill when Windows 10 hits end of life in 2025

I think that Apple is a lot worse than Microsoft when it comes to their much shorter EOL dates on laptops and tablets. I've got multiple 'perfectly usable' iPads/laptops that were simply turned into useless trash within 3 years of purchase, because Apple decided it. Perhaps the author of this...

News Delidded Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU Runs 10 Degrees Celsius Cooler

What exactly were the "impressive results" in terms of performance gains? Running a bit cooler is expected with delidded/LM, but not worth it unless the FPS performance improvements are in line with the risk involved. If we're talking a handful of extra frames, why bother?

News The Mirror Maze PC: Building an Ultra-Quiet, Liquid-Cooled PC to Get Lost In

I'm interested in how you managed to even mount the side rad without having to modify the front USB connections? I think I saw some other build with the same rad config and he had to dismantle the USB connections and hot glue them back together as the rad would simply not fit without doing this...

[SOLVED] CPU hotter on games than Prime95

Pretty sure there are a few games that use AVX, and that's likely to increase. Witcher 3, Ubisoft titles, Windows Mixed Reality REQUIRES AVX. A simple test - if you have your OC with an AVX offset of say 2, open Witcher 3 and watch your clock speed drop by 200mhz. But AVX is a 'thing' in...

    Question Overclocking voltage confusion

Personally I think VR VOUT should replace vCore given that it's a much more accurate sensor reading. VR Loop is important too, as there's so many using AIO coolers and don't realize their VRM's are cooking, and can cause big problems in finding stable overclocks. AsRock recommend additional...

    Question Overclocking voltage confusion

Are you happy with BIOS 3.30 with regard to overclocking? Did you use a previous version? Is 3.30 more stable with same OC settings? I have the same board, delidded 8086k. I'm on BIOS 3.10, and to preface this, I won't likely buy another AsRock board. They have the worst customer service, they...

Asus Xonar DGX sound card vs Realtek S1220A codec on Prime-A Z370 Asus MB

Almost all Z370/ALC1220 boards have been plagued by sound problems that is playing the "blame the other guy" game. Run a search for "popping" or "clicking" audio issues on any z370 board and you will find the same issue on pretty much every board. For most the Realtek driver make the front panel...

    I9 9900k/i7 9700k or i7 8700k

I decided to buy the 8086k since there was a good deal on Amazon for $35 more than the 8700k. I'm going to run on an AsRock Taichi and should get at least 5.1-5.3 on water cooling. We know that the i7 9700k is 8C/8T and there's literally a couple of games that can truly take advantage of more...

i7 6700k - bad game performance after overclock

Thanks for the help. I don't think I will actually ever notice 100Mhz of difference in clock speed, and the extra voltage needed to be stable at 4.6Ghz isn't worth the hassle. If the CPU becomes a bottleneck then I'll likely get the new i9 9900 and plan on a custom water loop and I doubt I will...

i7 6700k - bad game performance after overclock

I have been running my 6700k at 4.5ghz (1.29V) rock solid for two years. Water cooling. Since this is a pretty decent chip I thought I would try for 4.6ghz or even 4.7ghz. After much work and testing I managed to lock in what I thought was a solid 4.6ghz OC at 1.38V and ran it overnight on...
