PSU Surge - Computer Shuts Off Randomly

I'm an idiot, I completely forgot to include the PSU specs. Corsair TX850M The computer seems to be running fine right now on 3.4 Ghz. Also, I heard that ASUS motherboards are kind of lacking in terms of sensors and readings, so even though it says 3.0, it may actually be 3.2-3.3. Is that...

PSU Surge - Computer Shuts Off Randomly

Hey all, The past few days, my computer has been shutting off completely without warning. It shuts off like the power went out and doesn't tell me anything about it afterwards. I have been lowering the overclock on my i5 (from 4.5 to 4.4 to 4.3 and so on) until today I finally had to go back to...

Gtx 970 Xtreme Gaming with tt 600w tr 2

The CX series is more of a gamble than any other brand, but it's not horrible. My dad's system has been running fine with a CX 430 for 3 years and a 4670k and GTX 660. As far as GTX 970 goes, you should be fine with anything over 400 watts. Unless you're running an extreme processor or SLI, you...

ASUS VG248QE Signal Issue Above 60 HZ

So up until now, I neglected to look at the cable. Apparently, some of the pins popped out of the plastic casing. So I took a flathead and wiggled it in there a bit to try and set the pins back in and voilà! Works great and I have HDCP back. Sorry to waste space.

ASUS VG248QE Signal Issue Above 60 HZ

Just tried doing different resolutions. Anything below 1080p seems to run a little smoother initially but then completely gives up after some time. I'd debating trying a new cable or trying DVI, but I don't think that will do anything.

ASUS VG248QE Signal Issue Above 60 HZ

Hi All, I just moved into college and after setting up my PC (which I've had with this monitor for about 3 years now). After turning it on, I noticed that the screen would suddenly flicker with static (going between desktop and static) when there was activity on the screen, and then it would go...

    Mobo and CPU combination

It should work fine, but know that the CPU doesn't have Integrated Graphics. The means that if you weren't planning on putting a GPU for gaming in it, you should go get something like a AMD 6450 or GTX 710 just so you can have graphics.

    extreme GPU fluctuation GTX 770

Have you overclocked your GPU? I used to have the same card and if the core clock was just high enough, it would do that because it wasn't drawing enough power.

Is this how G-Sync really works?

Hello All, I've been interested in Nvidia's new G-Sync technology but have been slightly confused as to what it really does. From my understanding, it is the exact same thing as V-Sync, except that when you go below the monitors refresh rate in frames per second, it will match the refresh to...

    Re-color Gigabyte 980 LED?

Hello All, I have a friend buying a new computer and I'm helping him out with it since it's his first PC build (exciting! lol). We are thinking about going with a Gigabyte G1 GTX 980 however the Windforce LED on the side is Blue and he's going for a Red / Black build. I know that there's a...

How are these specs for gaming and recording at the same time with max graphics?

Those specs seem really good, but there are factors: -Resolution of Video -Frame Rate of Video -What Game? -What Program to Record? Otherwise the last part is actually doing it. Everyone has different results, though they may be very similar for most, everyone's experience is different. If I...

Will this PC run GTA V smoothly? (normal settings)

That's not a bad processor, but guessing from the card number, you have a half size / micro atx case right? The DDR2 Ram should be good since you have 8GB, and the graphics card should do alright, kind of. A GPU upgrade would totally benefit if you could. Otherwise, I have heard, not...
