What's a good replacement for an ASUS P5GD1?

I just had my mobo die on me (taking two sticks of RAM with it). The store I got it from doesn't have any of the same motherboard, so I need to get something else. Preferably in the $125 range. My old mobo is: ASUS P5GD1 ATX LGA775 915P DDR PCI-E16 2PCI-E 3PCI SATA RAID SOUND GBLAN The other...

    Really bizarre problems... Please help!

Well, I think I found the problem. I moved the box over to my wife's desk, set up a giant floor fan, and then tried to boot it up there to see if perhaps it was a wonky power problem or monitor somehow. *sniff sniff* Oooh, I know that smell. Solder! So, of the three sticks of RAM I had in...

    Really bizarre problems... Please help!

Tried a different hard-drive from my wife's computer, and had the same problems at boot. Got errors before hitting Windows, but I guess that's not unusual for swapping hard-drives.

    Really bizarre problems... Please help!

Ran Chkdsk, and got results that might be good. I'd tried previously with /F modifier and it didn't work. Just tried it again with no modifier, and got these results. CHKDSK is verifying files (stage 1 of 3)... File verification completed CHKDSK is verifying indexes (stage 2 of 3)... Index...

    Really bizarre problems... Please help!

Oh! At a suggestion elsewhere, I'm including a few errors from Event Viewer. There's more, but these are the most recent ones. 3:14pm Service Control Manager 7000 The TrueVector Internet Monitor service failed to start due to the following error: The service did not respond to the start or...

Archived from groups: rec.games.pinball (More info?) Sorry to take so long getting back to you... was on holidays. I cut the rod with a hacksaw (threaded a normal nut on first, clamped in vise, cut with saw, then ran the normal nut back over the cut off portion with a wrench to clean up the...

    OTH: Leg Bolt Source

Archived from groups: rec.games.pinball (More info?) Steve Young's Pinball Resource carries leg bolts. What I did was just buy acorn nuts from local big box hardware store (Rona) and a length of 3/8 in ( if I remember correctly) threaded rod, cut the rod to length, put on the acorn nuts and...

question on playfiled restoration (73 Gottlieb EM)

Archived from groups: rec.games.pinball (More info?) Thanx guys. I agree it looks like a laquer finish (thin and very hard). A teardown and clear coat on the whole field is beyond what I am willing to undertake (can't live without the machine that long!) I just want to patch some wear spots and...

Archived from groups: rec.games.pinball (More info?) Hi All; Looking for adivce on the best playfield repair process. Marvin3m site talks about using acrylic paint to patch wear holes, then sanding smooth. The original paint job is a silkscreen (I assume) which was then covered with a thin...
