I'll give it a shot when I get home. Those benchmarks are interesting though, I'm not sure what they are at 1440p but it still seems like my build should be performing a little better than it is. Do you recommend overclocking my CPU?

Yeah, I'm running it on a 1440p monitor. Windows' resource monitor shows my CPU usage being very low (maxing out around 30-40% ingame) though maximum frequency is about 100%, if that means anything.

Hi, so I finally got my first build to work after switching out a faulty motherboard and it's a dozen times better than any computer I've had previously. The problem is, it doesn't seem quite as powerful as it should. I'm only running about 70 fps in Fallout 4 when most benchmarks online show...

The mobo is a B350 tomahawk, the arm has a full range of motion but doesn't seem to do anything.

The MB has pin holes in this case, the CPU is the one with pins, and those pins are fine.

It's definitely compatible with the mobo, that isn't the problem. I checked the pin holes and they appear clear.

So I just bought a brand new CPU for my new computer I'm having trouble with because the pins of the old one were bent. I don't even know if that was the problem but it's definitely A problem. Anyway. I just slotted the CPU in (ryzen 1700) and noticed that it isn't locking into the mobo. Yes...

Well, I was fiddling with the parts and it looks like some CPU pins got bent somehow. I'm guessing that's the issue. Tried bending them back with tweezers, but only managed to make it worse. Looks like I'm getting a new CPU!

Well the PSU fan only spins briefly when I turn it on or off, but supposedly it only spins if it's using a lot of power. What do you suggest I try?

Oh, that's good to know, thank you. Another thing to note is that after shutting my computer off, I won't be able to get any sort of display without waiting at least around 15 minutes. If I don't wait and immediately attempt to restart it, I get lights from the computer, but the keyboard and...

Updates: I've tried a few different positions for both ram cards, and they don't seem to be different. I Don't think they're the issue. Tried plugging the monitor directly into my motherboard (GPU is still plugged in), and I'm not getting anything on the monitor.

I don't think it's the keyboard and mouse, because the visuals also freeze (i.e. loading wheel stops spinning). I'll try different slots for the mouse and keyboard just in case though, and switching the BIOS settings. Also, it's the B350 Tomahawk.

Well, I just tested each stick individually. One of the sticks won't allow the PC to start at all. The other one lets it run for a little longer than before, but it still freezes. Still leads me to think that it might be the mobo, though it's difficult to tell right now.
