Then do what I suggested earlier & at least check how much space pagefile,hibernation file & system restore(& maybe recycle bin) are taking up.

MS tool may give some issues some times.Try the method I posted earlier,you just need to download the ISO of win 10 using MS tool then mount that ISO & then simply copy everything inside ISO to pendrive formatted as FAT32.

Those cheap IDE-USB adapter may also fail sometimes.I have seen that using IDE PCI card like this usually have better success rate...

If win 10 is only letting you use 2TB then something is not right with your win 10 install unless you were using the 3TB as OS drive for win 10 & installed win 10 in MBR mode instead of UEFI+GPT mode.

Just format your usb drive to FAT32,extract the contents of win 10 ISO to usb drive,then reboot.On boot media selection menu,select usb drive[UEFI].
