Thanks! That was indeed the problem. Had to reinstall the game in order to make it work it work properly.

I was optimising shadow warrior to get a stable 60 fps, which I quite easily achieved. I then alt tabbed from the game to check something performance related, and after I tabbed back in my fps was stuck around 20-25. I have no idea what's going on, minimized all the settings, no fps gain. Just...
