What is the best graphics card that I can run on my 350w Gold power supply?

One of my family members recently gave me his pc that he had built about 3 years ago. It has dual Intel Xeon E5620 processors, 12gb of ram and GTX 580 Sli. I'm planning on upgrading the graphics cards to something like a gtx 970. Can these processors keep up with today's top processors?

I'm planning on upgrading my power supply and graphics card, but the most powerful power supply I can get is 500w. Is this enough to power a GTX 970 and will my CPU bottleneck it if is enough to power it. If so what would be the best version of the 970 to buy? Here is the PC I am planning on...
