I dont think its been dropped?? So is it possible to get the data off of it? And would I need to go to a computer technician to get this done? also I take it the EHD is now broken and I have to buy a new 1??? No hope of saving this 1?? Its only 4 months old!?

The EHD is a couple months old and has been fine but when I connected it to my TV to watch a film the TV didnt recognising it? So I connected the EHD to my laptop and I cant see the device under 'My Computer'?? The blue light on the EHD is flashing so theres definatly a power supply. My laptop...
