Thanks for the info. Yes, the HDD is SATA. I will check the settings. I guess, then if it is not set to AHCI, I can (F6), load the drivers, then maybe do a repair on the OS drive?

Thx guys. I am going to put one OS on each drive.. SO after I get say XP setup, unhook that drive, then install Vista, and after it is all done, re-connect the first (XP) drive? I think that is correct, lol

I am working on a friends comp that will no longer boot to XP. It gets to the XP screen and the "night rider" bars keep moving, but that is as far as it goes. After 3 minutes or so, I get about 1 millisecond of a blue screen of death (way too fast to try to read) and then a re-boot. It will not...

I have had this happen on many different machines.. the only way I found out how to stop it is turn hibernate off. That is probably not a lot of help, but I have never seen a reason to hibernate...

I am getting ready to build a dual boot system (2 hard drives) with XP on one and Vista on the other. If one HDD fails, (or removed)how would I boot to the other? Thanks!!

Hello all. Lightning toasted a mb (asus p4c800-e) a couple weeks ago and I had a raid 0 setup on it with a fasttrack controller (i think). I am rebuilding but using a different Asus board model. Is there any way to get my data off of the raid array? (2 drives striped) Thanks!!
