Question Is there a way for me to make my laptop FireWire or Thunderbolt compatible?

Thanks for the help! What I ended up doing was using an old mini PC I had (Dell Inspiron 3650) and put a second FireWire card into it, then use Remote Desktop over ethernet to control it from my laptop, thus making a portable rig without any modifications to my laptop!

Question Is there a way for me to store a PCIe card inside my laptops 2.5” bay?

In that case, how do I go about fixing this up externally? I know nothing about external PCI cards for laptops.

Question Is there a way for me to store a PCIe card inside my laptops 2.5” bay?

My mixer only connects to a computer by FireWire, so that’s why I need it. Is there any way that I can manage to connect it since my idea won’t work? My laptop doesn’t have Thunderbolt either, so that’s not an option unfortunately.

Question Is there a way for me to store a PCIe card inside my laptops 2.5” bay?

I’m trying to find a way to add FireWire to my laptop. I’m too poor to buy a new laptop with FireWire. I’ve read old forums where people have used an M.2 to PCIe riser, then connected a PCIe FireWire card. But I don’t want it external, I want internal. My laptop (Acer Nitro 5 AN515-54) has a...

Mini PCIe converter card (to FireWire) not recognized in my laptop??

I’m also wanting to do this. Recently got a Presonus StudioLive 24.4.2 that I need to use with my Acer Nitro 5 laptop, but face the same issue: no FireWire port. Does this method of M2 to PCIe then PCIe to FireWire work?

Question Is there a way for me to make my laptop FireWire or Thunderbolt compatible?

I was kinda thinking - and it might be a horrible idea, which is why I'm here on the forums with people who know a whole lot more than me - that if I could use the above mentioned riser, and somehow place a low-profile FireWire PCIe card into the slot reserved for a 2.5" drive, then access it...

Question Is there a way for me to make my laptop FireWire or Thunderbolt compatible?

    Not 100% sure what you're asking for, so here's everything! Interface/Mixer = Presonus StudioLive 24.4.2 M.2 PCIe Riser = ADT-Link R42SF Laptop = Acer Nitro 5 AN515-54

Question Is there a way for me to make my laptop FireWire or Thunderbolt compatible?

I recently bought a FireWire audio interface/mixer with the intent on getting a FireWire card for my desktop. However, I also want to use this mixer on the go, and need to attach it to my laptop (Acer AN515-54). I've been trying to research a way to do this, and the best way I see is to use some...
