I'll join Anandtech, becasue it as an updated database of CPU perfomance, and TH didn't updated his own for like half a year.

A Second Look: DDR4 Motherboard Performance vs Data Rate

A question hard to answer is: should spend money on memory, or processor, or GPU? We really do not have the benchmark data to back the answer. TH should test different RAM speeds for the best bang for the buck combinations of CPU+GPU

[SOLVED] Which 2x 16GB kit for Ryzen 3900x build

Today I saw a kit DDR4 2x16Gb 3600 for 180 U$S in Amazon. I don't know if amazon delivers to Poland, but there are some services that give you a direction in USA, to which you can send the purchase, and they send it to you.

Question What can I do with ddr3 ram

I'm planning to buy a ryzen with DDR4, and I have 18 Gb of DDR3 on my present PC. I do not want to just throw that memory away. There is any use for them on the new system? I was thinking to buy a PCIE card to make a ramdrive for swap file, to alleviate SSD wear, and accelerate compression of...

    Question PCIE 4 fan replacement

But did you actually tried to replace the fans? Or at least checked if the screw holes match? The images you posted look like those fans frames are too thick. Also there is the issue of the power connection to the mother. It is removable or is soldered?, like the CPU/case fans? Does it has a...

    Question PCIE 4 fan replacement

Did anyone got any info on DIY fan replacement on the PCIE 4 mothers? I mean the fan that cools those southbridge/PCIE chips. I'm eyeing a new mother for a new build, and I want PCIE 4, but I'm worried about it having factory fans. My PCs get regularly covered in dust, and fans tend to break...

AMD Ryzen 9 3900X vs Intel Core i9-9900K: Which CPU Is Better?

Thanks for the links I do not see the contradiction. My system is an i7 920, running on an Asus P6T. The only thing I didn't upgraded in 10 years was the mother and processor. I moved to SSD, filled the 6 banks of RAM, added various sound cards and upgraded 3 GPU. So, the mother I expect to be...

AMD Ryzen 9 3900X vs Intel Core i9-9900K: Which CPU Is Better?

Do you found benchmarcks comparing different chipsets for the 3xxx processors? I still running an RTX GPU on PCIE 2. No complains. But I expect my next mother to last a decade. I would not bet that PCIE 4 is going to be irrelevant for 10 years when PCIE 5 is already on the door.

AMD Ryzen 9 3900X vs Intel Core i9-9900K: Which CPU Is Better?

Support for older chipsets will be dropped first. Not just by AMD, but by the mother manufacturers. The x570 mothers have an excess of VRM, totally exceeding present Ryzen requirements. So AMD must have planned some future CPU with high power requirements which older mothers are not prepared to...

AMD Ryzen 9 3900X vs Intel Core i9-9900K: Which CPU Is Better?

You do not realize that today, a new motherboard will last a loooooong time. The slow pace of progress for CPU power means little incentive to upgrade, so getting the latest technology is justifiable for future proofing. I still running a 10 year old i7 920. Just days ago I played Metro Exodus...

AMD Ryzen 9 3900X vs Intel Core i9-9900K: Which CPU Is Better?

I'm seriously thinking upgrading to the Ryzen 9. I saw benchmark with a PCIE4 SSD, and those are glorious. Also, since AMD lets the user upgrade the processor on older motherboards, that's promising future proof. AMD should had won the motherboard criteria just for that. The thing that worries...

News DigiTimes: Intel to Slash Desktop Processor Pricing up to 15 Percent

I used to upgrade every 2 or 3 years. I had a 486, P100, PMMX 233, PII300, Atlhon X2 3600, and i7 920. I still run the i7 920. A decade later, it is 50% as fast as the fastest new CPU on single thread, -that's comparing a decade old, budget i7 against a high end new CPU.-, and I would not...

Review Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB Review: Turing Without The RTX

Like the deers of Horrifying Planet, this card is just fine. It sits were it should sit. But don't tell me that it is a replacement for the 1060, because is not. (prices from PCpartpicker, bubble size is memory)
