Hi j have an 8gb stick and I ordered an M4618G but I'm worried to whether or not I can out an 8gb stick in it or maybe his update it to get it working

So I have two CPUs I've tried that are 1155 one is a Xeon 1230 v2 and the other is an i3 2100. I've tried like 3 boards now ,ASRock ASRock and Intel. Don't think the brands matter tho . But anyways CPUs get hot components turn on ,no post. But even when I take the cmos battery out the same...

I think I will just send them both back it'll suck to wait for part a and part B be the problem and I'll have to wait another week for part B to return and wait for a new one to come

So it's sounding like the motherboard has stuff to protect the cpus from messing up stuff and it's most likely the motherboard itself? I think that may be the problem though because I get the same error code whether the cpu is in or not

Recent my nice threw a paperclip into my case and it shorted out the motherboard and now it won't turn on. The blinking lights show that there is a cpu error or mismatch because it is a dual xeon board. Is it moree likely that the cpu is dead or the socket is dead. It's a dell precision...
