Going out from my PSU, there's a cable labeled "fan connector", which looks like this, except it's only got 2 cables:
It's plugged in nowhere, yet my PSU's fans are still running. What's it for then?
There's a 3-Pin cable going out from my psu (for the psu fan I think). I assumed I would need to plug it into the system fan connector so that the fan can be controlled by the motherboard.
I've just upgraded my system. I used a microAtx board, only realizing it had no pins for case fans when it was too late. This is my build:

Recently, I bought a gtx 970 which is powered through an 8 pin PCI-E connection. My power supply only has a double 4 pin 12V connector. As far as I've heard, these are only for the motherboard or CPUs, but it fits into the PCI-E slot. Will it work?
