Run a few 3d benchmarks, also a run through with memtest, and if You don't get any BSOD's or other crash's, then good to go. I have completely mismatched Ram, 2x2 GB and 2x4 GB, different voltages and timings, but worked fine after some time finding settings that both would work ok at.
