As I said, I cannot connect to any of my schools websites when i have an Ethernet cable plugged into the dorm but can connect to it when i am connected via wireless.

Alright so my PC only hangs when it is put under stress. It's not heat as there are large variations between when it hangs for the temps. I feel like it's the psu, which i was told isn't very reliable, but im more of just curious if a virus could do that but only when the pc is put under stress...
