Alright so my PC only hangs when it is put under stress. It's not heat as there are large variations between when it hangs for the temps. I feel like it's the psu, which i was told isn't very reliable, but im more of just curious if a virus could do that but only when the pc is put under stress like gaming.

My fx 9590 can defiantly handle it. On top of that it only started within a couple of months and I made this pc a year ago

EVGA gtx 960 4gb. ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0, ThermalTake toughpower 750w gold, corsair vengeance lp 8gb(2x4) and the stock water cooler for heatsink.

and no overclocking

Jesus i didnt know it was 1000. But this only happened recently and it never did this before like three months ago. I ordered a 850w psu because i suspected that my psu was messed up but could it still work with that?

I believe it was a evga one and it was a g2 pretty sure.
Also could turning off two cores help any?
And another thing, someone tried to log into my email from completely across the country so that brings me back to the virus thing again.

alright i'll try that and i dont think you saw the virus thing i put in that last post because i edited it literally seconds after you wrote this one.

so again in case you didnt see it someone logged into my email from completely across the country so virus thing again.

I was using norton but my subscription refused to renew so i'll probably try that out. Also im really begining to believe that it was power because i turned off the 7th and 8th core and i managed to play csgo for a few hours with out a hang but it may have been just a coincidence. So i'll reply later today to find out if it really was.

Yeah I think it was just luck because i got it to hang again and I used Windows defender and got nothing after a full scan.
I'll try the under clocking in a bit

Alright so i underclocked it to 4gHz and it seemed to be working fine, didnt get any hangs. Only problem with doing that is that instead of having the normal see through task bar and the such it made it look kinda like windows xp where it was all blue. when playing games with it like that there was an insane amount of stuttering despite my frame rate being over 60. I did a system restore and it went back to normal but it only stayed at 4gHz until i turned it off and on again.
I was using AMD Overdrive so you know.
I'm not really sure how to underclock in the bios so i used that. If you can tell me how to do it in the bios that's be great so i can see if it does the same thing.
Another thing, after a while it seems that it realizes it's not at the right setting and i think it jumps back up t 4.7
