Question Can't boot to Windows when adding a new M.2 drive

Hey y'all, My copy of windows 10 (fully updated) is running on a SATA SSD. Recently I bought a XPG spectrix S40G and installed it in my top M.2. slot. Even after entering BIOS and manually setting my SATA SSD as the boot drive, I keep getting the error code 0xc00000e. This only resolves when I...

[SOLVED] Upgrading from a GTX 970 for optimum VR performance. What can I do with my current setup?

Hello folks. I'm ready to dip my toes into VR, and am considering an upgrade from my current setup, which is as follows: Zotac GTX 970 Intel core i5 4690k 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 RAM 250 GB SSD for the OS (windows 10) and a 1 TB regular hard drive for most files, including games. Asus 797E...

Best GTX 970 under 10 inches of length.

My case has a GPU clearance of slightly more than ten inches. Which of the candidates listed below (and other I may not know about) will perform the best? I am looking for good cooling, build quality, and OC potential over silence and a higher base clock speed. #1: The MSI Gaming 100me version...

What is the matter with my system? My GPU?

I haven't made any power setting changes, I always keep it on high performance. I will try cleaning my fan, thank you both for the help.

What is the matter with my system? My GPU?

So, I own an older Alienware laptop with decent specs. It runs Windows 7 64 bit, with a GT 650M, an Intel core i5 3210-m, and has sixteen gigs of RAM. However, my gaming performance is terrible, with most semi-modern titles (Like Alan Wake, Skyrim and America's Army) running with around 20...

I received no verification email, and since I was using a guest account I don't know what the order number was. They did take my money, though.

For my system, do I go with a blower or open air GTX 970?

My case is an NZXT Guardian. I have an Intel Core i5 4690k, and I will be using either the stock cooler or a good sub $20 cooler. (I am interested in overclocking) So, do I go with an open air cooler, like the Gigabyte Windforce OC? Or one with a blower style cooler, like this one...

Is this a good build for fairly basic gaming?

I am making a part list for my bother. He is not into very high end games, and his resolution will either be 1920x1080 or 1600x900. Here is what he expects to be able to do. Benchmark 1: Play Skyrim on low to medium settings on 1080p with 30+ fps. Benchmark 2: Play the new battlefront on...

Is this good first time build?

The case looks a bit small but workable. You might also want to consider adding a 500GB or 1TB ''standard'' hard drive in the future for storing less important stuff, as 250GB goes fast.

    Looking to build a PC

This is a tall order. I am assuming that you are playing at a 1080p or lower resolution. You see, games vary hugely in terms of graphics. For about 400-500 U.S. dollars,(tower only, you still need a mouse, monitor, and OS) you can create a pc that could run most fairly modern games on medium...

Want to upgrade graphics card but unsure about some things.

While it won't consistently hit 60 fps, the 970 will definitely do very well, (hey, it can run Alien Isolation maxed out on 40 fps). Aaaand, you can always add in a second 970 later down the road, which will give you better performance than a single 980.

Need help on upgrading current PC to 4K - Don't know what to do next

A GTX 980 ti or two 970's could do, but two GTX 980's would be much better. So, yeah, a motherboard upgrade for sure. Not sure about the processor, but overclocking it (especially if you can water cool it) might do. You might also want to upgrade the RAM as well. Not gonna lie, 4K gaming is...
