Noted, although personally it only tends to be my computer that's wired, my mother on the otherhand uses the wifi for her laptop, so shouldn't have a impact.

Ah perfect, didn't realise that you could do that with a switch, I always thought it was a one-to-many, my mistake. that solves everything. Thank you very much.

I'm working a desk project, whereby I keep all the cables inside of a 2 thick wooden desk & its metal frame, I've more or less got every other cable figured out, but I've gotten stuck on the ethernet cable. What I want to do is put an ethernet port either side of the desk (at the back of it)...
