I am torn. I have the x370 crosshair for my 1700x right now and that will be going to my wife while I build this 8700k setup. I like the asus maximus, but I like the taichi for having just a bit more in the power delivery phase. Any people with either able to chime in?

Glad you started to get things moving. Have you enabled the docp profile? It’s the AMD version of xmp that intel uses. Hat fixed things for me. I just went with the standard docp profile and it loaded up my rams settings. You may have to manually enter the ram timings even after the docp is enabled
