Question Ryzen 5 5600X gets hot quick

I just checked the specs for my case. It says the max CPU cooler height is 160 mm. This cooler is only 154 mm, so it might be a better fit. I'm still not sure how to judge what the cooling efficiency is on any of these. https://www.newegg.com/cooler-master-rr-2v2e-18pk-r2/p/N82E16835103331

Question Ryzen 5 5600X gets hot quick

The temperature outside is 76F. The high temp today was 83F. Not sure what it is inside the house, but it doesn't feel very hot. I'm just using the 3 case fans that came preinstalled. The top fan vent is partially obstructed. The left side panel if off. Is it normal for the 5600X to get that...

Question Ryzen 5 5600X gets hot quick

My Ryzen 5 5600X is around 40C at idle. But when I did some moderate gaming it quickly jumped to 89C. I think the CPU usage was only about 30%. I'm only using the stock cooler now. Should I just upgrade the cooler? My case is a little on the small side: Rosewill CHALLENGER ATX Mid-Tower Gaming...

Build Advice My first build in 10 years

I wasn't expecting NVME M.2 to improve gaming performance. I was expecting it to improve startup time. What's wrong with AMD CPU + Nvidia GPU?

Build Advice My first build in 10 years

I don't want a window because it might shatter. It's heavier. I don't need to show off the inside of my computer. And I don't need any lights shining out at me through the window as I'm trying to sleep. I'm saving about $50 by getting 5400 rpm hard drive instead of 7200. The operating system...

Build Advice My first build in 10 years

I'm not expecting to use a radiator. I'm not too worried about cable management. I'm expecting to use only one M.2 slot and zero 2.5". I might eventually use several 3.5", so the Rosewill is still better than the Cougar or the Be Quiet cases for me.

Build Advice My first build in 10 years

Yeah, I'm old school. It's not the from one my old build. I chose it because it Doesn't have a window. The top is flat. The front ports and power button are near the top, but not on the top. The power supply is mounted on the bottom. It has more than just 2 3.5" internal drive bays. I might...

    FX-8370E not compatible with GA-78LMT-S2P?

I just upgraded my CPU from a Phenom II X4 965 to an FX 8370E, but now the performance is significantly worse. I have the GA-78LMT-S2P (rev 5.0). I updated the BIOS to F4b. The Gigabyte website shows the FX-8370E on the CPU support list for the GA-78LMT-S2P (rev 5.x) since BIOS version F4b. What...
