my problem is clearly with the headphones' sound themselves, not bluetooth codec and connection, although the range on the bose qc35 is pretty poor. got alternative a2dp codecs for windows 11 for about 10 bucks, and they sound a little better, but truth is they didn't sound very good even wired...

another update: bought an odyssey retro usbc to 3.5mm dongle on aliexpress as part of package with monk wired earbuds and it did an incredible job of improving the sound on the bose headphones. maybe other similar dongles would also fit the bill for anyone out there suffering from the poor sound...

my 15.6 asus vivobook with n5000 processor and 4gb ram runs its fan without needing cooling--sometimes with 40 percent cpu usage and 50 percent ram usage. no option to stop fan in bios. the noise is very loud and aggravating. any advice?

is there any chance the sound is poor because they were set on the bose connect app to certain equalizer settings and now since i can't access the app they just stayed on those settings and they're not good for my laptop and listening taste?
