2 Bay NAS, Maximum throughput configuration

Hello good sirs, I have a 2-bay QNAP TS-231 (linked below) that I'm putting 2x 3TB WD Red drives into. The data will be backed up locally and to the cloud, and isn't mission critical enough that I can't suffer downtime while restoring. It's primarily going to be used for accessing RAW...

    i5-4690k good cooler

At that price point I'd go with the Noctua NH-D14 and never look back and not have to deal with buyers remorse. If you had a strict budget half for half of what yours is the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO is a time tested budget classic. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099

1st overclock, these results look ok?

Question for ASRock Mobo owners (Is Dr. Debug supposed to flash a ton of codes during post?)

I just finished this build earlier, installed all the drivers etc and am installing software now, but every time I reboot, Dr. Debug flashes through about 8 or more codes extremely rapidly on my ASROck Z97 Extreme4 as it's booting up, but I'm not really having any problems. Is this normal?

Are both drives in a RAID 1 array usable outside the array?

My new build is going to have about 8x SATA drives of various capacities from 1-5tb. I was hoping to put 2 of the 1tb drives into a RAID 1 array to store my important data such as family pictures, vacation videos, etc etc. I just want to ensure that incase of a MOBO failure where I lose my...

    Converting External drive to Internal?

Fantastic, that's exactly the general type answer I was looking for. I can take it from there! Was just curious if there was normally any proprietary interfaces or software that usually made it difficult or impossible. Thank you!
