Question X-99 ram capacity and compatibility

Yeah wont be getting anywhere close to that so no worries there Awesome, thanks for the reply. I don't think I have any current need to go over 4x32 so that's great, maybe I'll experiment with more knowing I can at least get 2 sticks with good chances it'll function.

Question X-99 ram capacity and compatibility

I have an Asus x99-A motherboard paired with 2690v4 and 2x32gb 2Rx4 ECC ram sticks I was looking at adding more ram but in doing so came to find the board can unfortunately only handle 64gb However in the manual it says it can only handle 8gb sticks(16gb later on with a bios update?) So I was...

    [SOLVED] Ram of Motherboard problem?

This was an issue I had for quite a while and if I recall persisted across multiple windows installs and drives. I'll still check event viewer next time I experience a crash but the only software issue I'd think is a compatibility issue or configuration issue f4-3000c16d-166gtzr

    [SOLVED] Ram of Motherboard problem?

All tests came back without errors so at this point I'd think its' pretty safe to assume its a mobo issue. I may do some sanity checks, testing in a few other configurations.

    [SOLVED] Ram of Motherboard problem?

So far both have passed without errors. Would memtest show errors if the slot was the problem or would a bad slot only cause issues during use or dual channel use or am I stuck just assuming it's a slot issue. I'm currently running a test in the second slot but am off to bed so I can't report...

    [SOLVED] Ram of Motherboard problem?

A while ago I had quite a few crashing issues which I "solved" by removing a stick of ram. Now I'm just wondering if the issue is my ram, mobo, or a software issue. The issue was very inconsistent across applications so it was hard to test and may not even be 100% solved but was much better...

[SOLVED] cant install windows to nvme ssd

asus b450-f gaming. Unplugging my other drives solved the issue. I'm up and running again. Unfortunately it didn't fix the issue I was trying to solve. We'll have to see with time but previously my pc would randomly crash both as a whole either black screen or BSOD, or just in games. havent...

[SOLVED] cant install windows to nvme ssd

Something along the lines of "windows could not create or find a partition. restart the installation" yes, there are 3 HDDs and 1 SSD. all would be quite a pain to unplug if that was needed.
