Well, my brother had the EXACT same symptoms but i highly doubt that this is the problem. My brother's problem was the mob (which was msi btw) the capacitors got screwed but since your's is a new one the only way this could happen was due to a power surge. Check the capacitors to be sure though...

You can do it (in theory) but is a bad idea cause external hard drives are much more prone to functionality problems, usb is way slower than sata and you can use this hard drive only at one computer(you need a fresh install for each computer)

Do not format it unless you are 100% sure that this is the problem (it is very dangerous), try connecting the ssd to a usb port on the backplate, maybe the front-panel usbs are not even connected to the mob

Well, agree with bottlegamer you need ddr3 ram and not 4 cause it is not supported. This rig is nice for gaming but it is not the best thing to buy a haswell NOW since the skylakes have been realesed. It is good enough though, also i would not realy trust asrock mobos better go for asus or gigabyte

Your mob is faulty. Check the capacitors, if they have a green liquid on them it means that at some point you psu had a power surge and it screwed your mob

Well, basicly you are f*cked. Not because of the password but the fact that your bios asks for a pass means that something is TERRIBLY wrong. Go directly at customer support
