    Best Gtx 1070 NZ

This discussion is relevant to my interests. I want a GTX 1070. I can afford a GTX 1070. What I'm unsure about is whether or not it's a good value. The cheapest 1070 I could find is about NZD$670. When I compare that to a 8GB RX 480 at NZD$400, I have to ask myself, "am I getting $270 more...

DRAM led on - ASUS P9X79

Thanks for the sympathy Brighttail, it's appreciated. I was stoked and loving this new system for about 5 months before this. I will go though the motions of contacting the retailer and trying get an RMA, but I'm not terribly optimistic. I expect I'll be buying another mobo. Two questions on my...

DRAM led on - ASUS P9X79

@norsestar Yes I made sure the formatting on the usb stick was correct @Brigthtail Just heard back from ASUS, response was "failed board, contact retailer and apply for RMA." So, boo. I'll email the ebay seller, I don't really think it's their fault, but I"ll see if they can do anything to help me.

DRAM led on - ASUS P9X79

Just submitted an online form to ASUS :) We'll see what kind of response I get. As I say, I didn't buy the board new from ASUS (or an ASUS retailer) but as a "refurbished" board on ebay. I won't be too shocked if they politely tell me, "it happens, buy a new one."

DRAM led on - ASUS P9X79

Check, did all that. Tried both v4701 and v4801 (still in beta). Tried as both .CAP file and .ROM file. Same result everytime: one blue flash, then solid blue.

DRAM led on - ASUS P9X79

Any thoughts on how I can get the BIOS to flash properly? When I insert the usb stick with the BIOS file (I've tried both .CAP and .ROM) and press the BIOS button, it flashes once and then remains on. I've tried with RAM installed and without.

DRAM led on - ASUS P9X79

Thanks for the response Brighttail. My main issue is that, with the DRAM led on, the system won't POST and therefore won't boot. Sorry, probably should've specified that first. Re: BIOS. I tried flashing the very latest BIOS (v4801) which is still in beta. When that didn't work I tried the...

Front Panel Power Connector not working on MOBO

Is there any chance the side panels are making contact with anywhere on the motherboard? That could cause a short circuit. Is the wiring in your new case from the front panel all intact, no worn insulation? That's all I can think of.

DRAM led on - ASUS P9X79

Mobo: ASUS P9X79 CPU: i7-4820K RAM: Ballistix Sport 1600Mhz PC3-12800 2x8GB PSU: Vantec ION2+ Cooling: Hyper 212 Evo Like a few others on these forums, my DRAM led is on solid red. I've been wading through and reading what others have tried, and done just about everything. This system has been...

PC for gaming around 1100 NZ Dollars

I just built a new system in NZ, but I didn't need a monitor or OS. Ya, a decent build on that budget will be a challenge. I recommend using nz.pcpartpicker.com to set up the build and ensure compatibility, but price all or some of the parts from ebay. I found ebay, even with high shipping...

    1200$ NZ PC build

I have also just built a new system in NZ, but I didn't know about nz.pcpartpicker.com. I would use that site to ensure compatibility, but price some or all of the parts on ebay. I found that to be the cheaper option rather than using NZ retailers. As with anything, the more time and research...

Gaming PC 1000 NZ Dollar including OS and Monitor

Congrats! Building your own system is definitely the way to go. I also live in NZ and am building a new machine. I've found ebay to be the best place to get parts. Pricespy.co.nz is also good. Stay away from Trademe.co.nz for PC parts. They're great for many things, but way too expensive for...

Need a GPU to finish my new build

Scratch that, something is definitely dodgy there. Only one DVI output? It doesn't look like any 780 card on the market. I really need to stop searching and waffling, and just buy a GPU already.
