okay so basically i've come under the impression that performance for price with intensive gaming in mind, Xeon E3-1231v3, Xeon E3-1241v3, win everytime over the i5-4670k, or i5-4690k. The case is made that do 1440p/4k gaming in ultra truly need such overclockability for such little perfromance...

wouldnt the xeon 1231 be super similar to the i5-4690 locked version though, since thats still quadcore??
